LS/Vtec Calibration Issue

Hey how's it going guys?

I got my unit a few weeks ago, and finally had the time to try and get it up and running today but I ran into a problem. I'm running an ls/vtec, and tried running it with pretty much all of the stock vtec calibrations that were on Smanager, but none of them worked.

The motor would start for a second then sputter and die.

I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong? or if there is a calibration that somebody could share with me that would be able to get the car to my tuner.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks guys.

First i would suggest contacting your tuner to ask them about a basemap. If you have tried all the built in calibrations in the software and the car will not stay running it sounds like you may have a wiring problm of some kind that is interfering with normal operation. If you have a wide band you need to see if the car is rich or lean and make adjustments as needed.

Damn.... A wiring problem doesn't sound very encouraging. Hopefully that isn't the case.

I'll take a closer look at it and see if I can get er goin.

I checked my connections again, and the car starts up fine now with the stock calibrations.

However, the datalog shows a code 20, which is electrical load detector. And none of the gauges in the cluster work ( tach, fuel, temp etc. )

Any ideas gentlemen?

I have a datalog file for the 5 or 10 seconds that I kept the car running, I'll post it if needed.

thanks guys

Edit- I overlooked the fact that I can disable the ELD under options.

If your gauges are not working you have a wiring problem some where in the car.

 Nice....

it must be the jumper harness, since if I use a stock obdII Ecu the gauges work fine

Sounds like it's time to get out the multimeter and a wiring schematic. OR a professional to do it for you.

I had the same problem with a virgin P28 ecu, and I've used 2 different OBD2b-OBD1 jumper harnesses.

both times the car will run, but nothing in the cluster works
