I need an answer to a simple question...

When I open the "stockusp72.cal" in Smanager, I see that the vtec engagement point is set at 4800.

However, I have been told that a stock US P72 ECU running a US B18C1 will engage vtec at 4400 rpm.

I would like to know the correct vtec engagement point for a stock US P72 ECU running a US B18C1; 4400 rpm or 4800rpm?

and I'd actually like to hear Hondata's input on this one so I can put this discussion to rest.

just leave it alone at 4800, a couple hundred rpms is not that big of a deal.

The factory setting is not optimal. It's called the psychology of vtec.

Yeah this wasn't really a question that I was going to act on. I've been using 4800 rpms as the P72 vtec point for a number of years now but I've never really messed with stock US GSR swaps. It's always been a gsr swap in some other car, etc.

Basically, I had a discussion going with another guy and wanted to know for my own reference.

Thanks for the help guys!
