S300

I'm just about to order the S300 hondata.

It's to go on a civic esi (uk) 1.6 D16

I've downloaded Smanager, (not sure if theres a newer version than the 1.1) the base map on there only has 10 map references for the MAP sensor, how do you expand on this?
I'm going to turbo the car, but think i'l put the management on and have a play while it's still n/a.

My questions are, do i need anything else, or just the S300.
Does it come with fitting instructions?
And how do i connect my wideband lambda to it?

Any other points i should know about?

Many thanks.

In Smanager, go to Help and click on check for updates.

Read the Help file...Help, contents.

YES
No, mine didn't anyway :(

Just fitted it into my car, after looking on the internet.

I also, cut the 2 resistors, R136 and 138 so that i can use D10. However, which wire (colour and location is D10, i couldn't find it)

Also, my EM light is on.
The lights on the S300 board both illuminate, and my laptop won't connect, i have got a "!" in device manager although its picked it up as an S300.

But the car runs :D

Right i've got it to connect now, and downloaded the original map from my ECU, however, i can't get it to datalog, it says its "online" but it only takes 1 reading and then it stops.

Is there something obvious i'm doing wrong?

Many thanks.

Try and update the driver for it. If I remember correctly, the driver file was put into the Hondata folder that the program was installed to and I had to search that folder for the driver.

If that doesn't work, make sure J12 is cut.
After that, make sure onboard datalogging is turned off if you are connected to the laptop as that will cause odd readings.

What ecu is this on?

I assumed you were using a P28 ecu, but it sounds that you might be using something different....

Sorry i have cut J12.

Still nothing, even the on board datalogging doesn't work.

It's also got 1 green light, and 1 red light on all the time, then when your downloaded maps or uploading changes a green light comes on for that short time.

The green light also flashes every few seconds.

Here is a picture of my ECU, it's only 1 board, then the hondata board, i've seen a few pictures of the US boards and they seem to be on 2 levels, so do the JDM ecu's.

Mines a P28 as it says so on the casing. Could this be the cause of the problem?

Also not it hasn't got anything installed in the top right of the picture, near where you install the hondata, What is this missing component?

I believe the other board you are referring to is the knock board, which is NOT present on P28 ecu's.

From what I can see, it appears that the missing part on the board you are talking about is a Barometric Pressure sensor (in the upper right corner underneath the S300 board). I have seen a few P28's without them, but all of the US ecu's I have seen do have them.

Try disabling the barometric pressure sensor in the calibration settings and upload to the S300.

Ah right, so it should still work without them.

Surely this sensor wouldn't cause problems with my datalogging though.

Could it be something i've soldered wrong as i've been socketing the ECU, or would nothing work then?
