(02 Turbo K24a1 EP3)

I realize leaving the stock primary 02 sensor is neccessary for proper closed loop operation, but my question is this:

Is there an ideal or optimal placement/position on the exhaust for the external wideband?

So far I have come up with, 6" away from the turbo, is there any truth to this?

I'd really like to integrate an external wideband, but I'd like to have good reason for where to place a 3rd o2 bung on my exhaust...

and while I'm on the subject, is there an ideal placement for an egt gauge? ... a few inches away from leanest burning cylinder?

6" from the turbo is too close - the sensor will be damaged from the heat.

The sensor will read accurately anywhere in the exhaust system except at the very end, but the AF reading will change downstream from the cat. I would suggest placing the sensor just before the cat. Failing that, just afterwards will work also.

Should I worry about keeping the aftermarket, external wideband a few inches away from my factory primary 02 wideband?

Does it matter if they are both next to each other?
