VSS speed signal for Speed/Power Guage?!?

Hi there... This is my first post on the hondata forum, altho I have been using hondatas for a while now.

My question is about VSS and speed signals from the k-pro.

I've got an ITR DC5, with a k-pro. And I'd like to know if it's possible to get a vss signal from the k-pro. I understand, from looking at the pin out, that there is a VSS Out on the k-pro. Image
Highlighted in blue. However as you can see on my E-connector I have nothing comming out of the VSS Out. Image

Does the hondata know how fast I'm going and give an accurate output in pulses? If so how many pulses? And will it be possible to wire a speed power guage to this output? I've currently got the guage hooked up to the VSS signal on the engine harness, but i'm not getting the correct output for the guage to give the correct readings!

Also, and possibly more importantly. I've not yet hooked my k-pro up to a laptop, altho the previous owner has had it tuned quite well. When i do hook it up will the current settings and map be saved or will they be wiped?

As I say i'm a complete noob, but very willing to learn.

Cheers

Medley

The vss out is for automatic transmission ECUs which the ECU translates the countershaft speed signal for the dash. Manual ECUs don't have the circitry for this output.

Thank you.

So I now know I?m definitely connected to the correct VSS on the engine harness.

Do you know what kind of signal the VSS on the engine harness outputs?

I'm going to borrow a signal generator to replicate the signal to check if the gauge that I?m using is faulty.

Have you ever experienced anyone using a Blitz DCII Speed/Power Gauge on a K20a?

The VSS is a 0-12V square wave.
