Mods:
-2003 Acura RSX Type S K20A2
-Greddy Turbo kit and FMIC @ 9 psi
-BKR8EIX spark plugs
-Kpro with latest drivers and software
I am not getting consistent datalogging results. Sometimes when I am in the middle of a 3rd gear datalog the red record button goes grey and all the sensor valve freeze. Kpro manager shows up as offline. The weird thing is my computer still recognizes the USB connection. I have tried:
-Doing driver updates
-Trying different computers
-Trying different usb cables, one with ferrite clips and one with out
-Tried moving the ground wire to the valve cover
-Tried putting electrical tape between the ecu cover and the usb port to prevent grounding
Any suggestions?
Intermittent Datalogging Issue
Use more ferrite. In addition to all the other things that are listed (search ferrite) - I wound up with three beads on each end of the cable - the one naturally on the cable, a second add on with the cable straight through, and a third bead that was big enough to loop the cable and make two passes of the cable. I was finally able to make a run without locking up the computer.

In the past people have found that the wiring harness has been damaged from heat where it passes behind the turbo, but I don't think this is the case unless you have other sensor errors.
Using a mulitmeter on mA mode, check for current flow between the battery negative terminal and the ground points on the engine, the USB connector, both with and without the engine running. Anything more than a few mA means that there is a problem - usually a missing or borken ground wire.

Update.
I think the issue has been solved. I had Windows Task Manager open and I was watching my CPU usuage when I was dataloging and it was spiking to 100 % when it would stop recording. I tried closing out of backround applications and had my CPU usuage at 49 % while dataloging. I had a 7/8 datalogs error free success rate. I am going to continue to update my findings for anyone else experiencing this issue.

Interesting. Just for the heck of it, I popped open task manager last night...seems I was running about 50-60% just data logging with only the usual background crap open. That is with USB 2.0, 3ghz, 1gb ram computer.
I may pull off some of the ferrite beads and see if that changes - I can't imagine it would, but I've never looked at the CPU usage while logging.
