engine damage

Hi..
i have a euro civic type r with kpro pra ecu and i have set the rev limiter to 8600 rpm and vtec is at 4000 rpm, and last month my stock intake valve spring is damage, contact valve-piston and engine is very damage !
my head is with single sotck valve spring..
why the valve spring is broken??
rev limiter at 8600 rpm is too high??

It is difficult to say what caused it without having everything in front of you to look at it. May have just been a defective spring.

it's possible a defective valve spring?
