odd s300 datalogging / calibration problem

I started a calibration file from scratch and everything has been working fine. I recently tried another calibration file and my datalogging started to intermittently freeze. It says its online but the datalogging freezes and I cannot upload or download. Unplugging the usb cable and reinserting temporarily fixes the problem. It seems like an interference problem (works fine at idle and with the car off and stops once I start driving) but it's only with other calibrations. I did check the common problems thread.

I had this problem before and I took the unit out and checked the ECU socketing and put it all back together. I decided not to use other calibrations anymore because mine worked fine. I'm trying to diagnose some specific problems so I need to try other calibrations at certain times without datalogging freezing. Does anybody have any ideas?

From Help, About, what version of software are you using?

What do you mean starting from scratch as opposed to using soem other calibrations. Where are you getting these files and how are you starting from scratch?

All the calibrations can be found by going to File new.

ok this is weird... i have no freezing issues when my laptop is running on battery only. must be some sort of interference problem with the power inverter. does it with both of my laptops too.

oh yeah, when i say starting from scratch i mean i went to file new. when i try somebody elses with a similar setup it froze. i think it was just a coincidence because it seems to be related to the charger.
