Hi
We did build a civic for drag racing purpose with a forged K20 engine with 200HP of nitrous and we just installed a spool to get traction and i disabled the VSS in K manager but we did loose our two step rev limiter so i want to know how can i reactivate a rev limiter when clutch is engaged

We have a race this weekend so any suggestion will be greatly appreciated

We did run 11.5 sec. 1/4miles without LSD with 175HP of nitrous and with some tuning to do. We were running the 5spd tranny but was getting very difficult to enter the third gears at 9000 rpm.

We did tune the car prefect and we did put 200HP of nitrous for this time with the spool so we hope to get in the 10sec. range !!!!!

We did put the 6spd now instead of the 5spd. We heard that this was due to the fact that the 5spd have just 3 synchro and it have been build to be shift at 7000rpm and not 9000rpm. Do anyone run some automatic tranny on those engine for drag racing. This winter, we will make it turbo but we want a tranny that will work right with the set-up ??? Any suggestion

Thanks
Fred

You really need a speed sensor, but in the mean time check 'no speed sensor' under 'misc'.

Hi
Thanks for the reply

This is what i did but i loose my 2 step rev limiter

Do Hondata can do a 2 rev limiter with the help of a switch on the clutch pedal ??

Do anyone have suggestion on the best tranny to utilise on a K20 turbo made just for drag ?

We did put a GT4094R on the car and built a serious turbo kit on it and we want to use the two step rev limiter with the anti-lag feature

Do you have a update on the software to utilise a switch for a launch control with spool.

Thanks

Under 'Launch Rev Limiter' you can set the launch rpm and retard the timing / add fuel to spool the turbo.

With the clutch switch to a nitrous output which has the ignition set for maximum retard possible.

Thanks for your help but like i told you i have a spool so i dont have any speed sensor so my lunch rev limiter cannot work because it work with the speed sensor,

I know how to make work the antilag feature with Nitrous option but how to set a second rev limiter without a speed sensor. The nitrous feature cannot set it

Thanks

Maybe go with the 05'+ typeS trans where the VSS is moved off the diff to the gears. You will need a convertor to change the High frq VSS. here http://www.dscustoms.com/s2000cluster.htm

Just some ideas...

Do Hondata think that in the future Kmanager release, they would be able to adjust rev limiter with the nitrous option to bypass the speed sensor or adjust rev limiter with a button

That is not a change we are considering. You really need a VSS, and if the spool had a shoulder for the drive ring it should be possible to run one.

I will test your new launch controller option next weekend
