S300j problems Car running in permanent limp mode

I just got back with my GSR ecu which i had the S300j installed in.

When the guys installed it they had a problem with the laptop reading the ECU on 2 cars but when they reinstalled the software then the laptop reconised it. However/while it was giving this problem they thought it was the socketing, so the guy took it and did what he called a "circuit test" and said that the ECU is fine.

During the testing process I saw a solid red light, but when i asked what it was they told me that i would see a red light before a program is uploaded.

Now that i have gotten home and plugged the ECU into my car i still see the red light so i uploaded a program but the check light stays on, then i start the car, it idles at 1500 rpm and limits at 3500rpm. I tried different programs, and nothing. The CEL stays on constantly. I cant datalog or nothing. nothing works. I dont live close to where i had it installed actually i live thousands of miles away ( in different countries) and really cant afford to ship it out and be without the car for extened periods since i just finished my vocation and i am goin back to work nextweek, and the car is my daily driver.

Is there anything that i can do here that could solve my problem?
In the install manual it says remove J4 resistor and transfer to J1 ? does the resistor need to be there or can there be a thin wire acting as the jumper?
Is there anything else i should look for/look at ?
Can i test for continuity between any contact points to check to see if the board(s) are working correctly?

The ECU was working perfectly before, so i know it works.

Need Help ASAP

Does it upload?

J4 needs to be removed. J1 needs to be jumpered, either with a piece of wire or resistor.

You could pull the ECU board out and look for any lifted tracks or poor quality solder joints. You could also check continuity with a multimeter from each pin by following the track on the board.

From what you are sayi git sound as though the ecu never worked. Your dealer should not have let you take it a non-working condition. I would recommend that you send it back to your dealer to have them check it and go over thier installation.
