Stage 3b upgrade to self tuning question

I just bought a car with a Stage 3b Hondata installed. (B18c1 JRSC)
From what I understand in order to tune the car myself I will need:

Datalogger - 200$
ROM Editor - 200$
Pocket Programmer w/ emulator board - 270$

But this requires the removal of the chip to program it, right?

Can "The Romulator" be used instead of the above?

I keep reading through the site over and over until my head hurts. Bascially, I want to simply be able to plug my laptop up while I'm in the car and have the ability to tune the settings. What do I need to do this?

everything you've listed.. you put the romulator in the place of the eeprom.. but once you have a final tune that you've made.. you burn it to an EEPROM then you're good to go

Everything?

Datalogger - 200$
ROM Editor - 200$
Pocket Programmer w/ emulator board - 270$
Romulator - 180$
USB serial adapter - 59$ (do I need two??)

Grand total = 909$ (+shipping)

The guy who I bought the car from bought the stage 3b back when the Hondata guys were working out of a garage. Is this system really worth me dropping the cash to upgrade? Or should I start thinking about starting from scratch with a s200?

So my best bet would be:

Ship my 3b back to Hondata and have them upgrade it to a S200 (225).
So I will retain my Boost capability and gain the datalogging.
Add the ROM Editor (200)
Romulator (180)
and Programer (180)
($785 total)
And I ready to go, right?
Or should I scrap the whole thing and buy a Power FC?

Is the programmer 270$ or 180$? Why and I seeing two prices?

Oh yeah, and I would STILL need the USB serial adapter, right?

the pocket programmer is 150 from www.xtronics.com and you can buy the emulator as well, but it is not entirely necessary

does your laptop have a serial port??
