O.k.
I spent enough money on tuning N/A b18c5 with p72,hondata, it performs great, but I can't get rid of starting problems. I run 370cc injectors with f.p.r
Lets say I start the car in the morning, it will start fine. Drive it around for some time, let it sit for 2 hours. Then, when I try to start it back up, it will have rough iddle at low rpms for 10-40seconds. I end up holding the gas pedal for that amount of time. At all startup over 2 hours, I can smell fuel.
That rough/low iddle won't happen as bad if I push the gas pedal in right after I start the car - also, don't know if thats a good thing to do at startups.
Once the car warms up, everyting is fine
Anyone been able to resolve that problem? or knows the source of it?
Thanks in advance
startup/idle problems b18c5/p72
I've had it at random. The only thing I can figure is [start my theory] there is more fuel in the bigger injectors- when you shut the car off, the injectors get heat soaked and boil out all their fuel back to the fuel rail. when you start the car again, esp with a stock pump, it can't completely purge the fuel rail/injectors of bubbles, which ends up being seen as a rough idle. [end my theory]. Most people (like me) have the FP gauge mounted on the filter. It should be on the rail itself. How to stop it? when you turn the key to "on" leave it there for 5 seconds while the fuel pump runs. On my car I can hear it, but you can't hear a stock pump. Then start the car. I've not had a problem since I started this.

thanks, i think it worked.. although its cooler weather now, i don't know if it completely solved the problem, but sure has helped at startups - starts up all the time now.
I think it has to do with obd1 ecu that closes the fuel lines where obd2 kepts it open, - not sure about that though
thanks again.

I'm having the same problem while restarting hot...

Ever heard of the cold start enrichment, post start enrichment, and cranking fuel enrichment. These features are present in the S200. THat I think should solve the problem.
My theory is that when you turn off the car, fuel is left or dumped into the manifold( on staged 2,3,4 HOndatas.). So when you start the car it is running extremely rich causing the idle to get fucked. You can verify this when you use a wideband O2.
