Poor fuel effects on K20A2 programs

I'm considering purchasing the K20A2-2 program but I'm concerned about the effects of poor fuel may have on an "aggresive" tune. I'm also very familiar with the effects of over octaned fuel on a performance car (another story).
I will be going on a long road trip soon and would like to purchase the program before I leave. If I'm uncertain with the quality of the fuel I may encounter on the road, is it safe to add 1/4 bottle, 1/2 bottle of octane booster per tank fillup? What do you recommend?

Has anyone encountered detonation issues with this program?
