Blue Box and Heat

Post by Doodoo »

I just wanted to know if anyone has had problems with their blue box when the weather is hot.
My situation:

It has been in the upper 80s-90s here recently. I parked my car in the sun for about 5 hours. Came out to start it and the check engine was solid. My blue box was in my glove box and it was hot to the touch. I took it inside to the A/C for about an hour. Came back, hooked it up and no check engine, car started fine.
Another day I tried to start it when the blue box was hot and check engine was solid and it started fine, just a solid light. It drove normal with my program because I run 780cc. If it was in limp it would not have ran right.

This has started happening since the weather turn hot. In the winter everthing was fine. I have since moved the box out of my glove box and it still happens.

Any ideas? Thanks.

This has happened to no one?

Hondata:
Was the board components in the blue box ever tested for heat tolerances?

No problems for 5 years except for the bugs that they fixed. I live in the tropical country of the PI. TEMPs get as high as 40deg celcius.

I've drivien my car in Arizona when it was at least 110 outside and probably 150 or more in the car, and had no problems.

Then I guess I my box has got problems. I have since moved my blue box in between my seats under the e-brake. There was not a problem when I drove the car.

I think I wil be sending my box in for repairs. I am sure th eblue box will run under adverse conditions, just not mine.
