My Honda EG6 setup is as follows:

B16A block
Wiseco high-comp pistons
Eagle H-beam conrods
ACL racing bearings
Type-R head
Aftermarket cams
Flat-bottomed valves
Dual valve springs,
Toda sprockets,
Aftermarket 4-2-1 header,
Knife-edge and balanced crank,
Exedy super lightweight flywheel and
Jenvey Quad throttle.

Car was dyno-tuned using Hondata S300 on a Dynapack last night and hit 184whp at 8,000rpm on a 1.6L engine.

Figure looks reasonable. However, here is my problem...

The engine rpm drops very fast and engine stalls as a result.

I moved the IAC to the max (right side of the bar) but rpm still drops very fast to 0 rpm esp from 3,000 rpm and engine stalls. Sometimes, after hitting 0 rpm, rpm moves up to 1,000rpm. Idling rpm is set at 1,000.

I visited Jenvey website and noticed that Hondata ECU was not mentioned in the ECU list.

Has anyone tried using Hondata to tune a quad-throttle before?

If yes, can anyone tell me why am I facing this engine stalling problem and what the solutions could be?

from your specs, its going to be a racemotor..since the engine have rev well(except for the stall), I don't think the ecu is at fault except for some minor tweakings on the compensation values..When you try to lighten things up(e.g knife-edge crank,lightened flywheel,etc.) you can't put your racemotor to idle well especially after blipping the throttle..also, try to put the engine in operating temp to stop the ecu from adding fuel..

I have since taken out the quad-throttle and lightened flywheel. The stalling problem was getting in my nerves even though I really love the full-throttle growl and super sensitive throttle feel...

Well... at least I have tried a quad-throttle before...

1) What is meant by "put the engine in operating temp to stop the ecu from adding fuel"?

2) Which compensation? IAT or Water or both?

3) How to?

Now that I have taken out the quad-throttle and lightened flywheel, I notice the rpm still drops to below the set idle (980rpm) but engine does not stall.

4) Is there any way to stabilise the idle?

When i turned on the air con, the rpm also dropped extremely low (<500rpm) but engine does not stall. Then rpm moves up slowly...

5) Any idea why this is so?
