Hello guys,
I am installing at type S VTC unit on my tsx. I have this tsx engine in a dc2 Integra 95. I was wondering can the Type S Vtc unit be installed without swapping out the motor from the car? Here is what I have already done:
We have taken off the tsx vtc unit and bolted on the rsx type s vtc unit. We lined up the crank with the line on the timing chain cover! Also made sure the cam lines were facing each other! Marked the cain. Also made sure the chain is straight and doesn't fall off the crank gear!

We are having a hard time putting on the chain. Is there a certain procedure that needs to be followed. I surely don't want to take out the motor just to swap the vtc unit nor I want to take out anything else!
any advise would be apperciated!
Tech question
It's a bitch of a job, just did mine on the RSX. I was installing new cams and springs, so it was a little easier to put on the chain when I could move each camshaft. If your cams are still bolted down, I would think that the chain tensioner must be removed to allow for enough slack to install the chain. If removing the tensioner still doesn't get you enough slack, I would unbolt the cams, it's a hell of a lot easier than removing the chain cover and the chain guides.

Yes I have removed the tensioner. Still not enough slack. So next thing to try is losen the cam caps :x I think this might do the trick! :orensoyka wrote:It's a bitch of a job, just did mine on the RSX. I hate to thread jack, but Ive been searching for the answer for some time now, and that is if the 50 deg. vtc will fit on k24a2.... on a stock motor with stock cams? stock valvesprings, etc. link would be helpful, or just a straight answer. My motor is completley stock with stock type-s exhaust and cat (for now).
