Hondata,
You should seriously consider setting something up to allow individuals who purchased used comptech supercharger kits for the TSX the ability to pay and have their ecu's reflashed through hondata dealers or hondata directly. Currently, hondata does not allow the TSX s/c reflash to be obtained unless the kit was purchased new, but that current setup make the resale value of the s/c kit virtually zero. Especially since there is no K-Pro available for the TSX. I believe this is extremely unfair and doesn't make any business sense.
I don't understand.. how difficult is it to allow an individual to obtain the s/c reflash for the tsx at approximately the same price or less as the NA reflash through hondata dealers? I am trying to sell my s/c kit but it is becoming a big mess because when the potential buyers contact hondata regarding the s/c reflash, hondata says they do not offer the service. They are advised to swap ECU's with the seller... but what about those with different tranny's and/or model year TSX's? The ecu swap is not possible in that case and can be very costly as well.
If the reflash is possible, then why not? It would just bring more profitable business to you.
Any help with this?
Comptech S/C Reflash Suggestion for Hondata
We'll consider your request but there are some complicating factors.
First, without Comptech there is no source of support for the installation of the supercharger kit. By providing a reflash Hondata would inherit any support issues with the supercharger kit.
Second, I believe that there are changes to the fuel pressure regulator with some kits which need to be transferred between vehicles. The risk is that if this is not done correctly, the kit will cause the engine to lean out / have other problems.
Third, there is also a black box that must be installed with Comptech kits , that we do not have any details on, and without this box, the reflash will not work properly.

Hondata,
I greatly appreciate your reply, and you make very valid points. You are correct that the comptech supercharger kit for the TSX does require modification to the fuel pressure regulator. However, this is all spelled out in the comptech s/c instructions which i would be providing to the buyer. In fact, I would be providing an already modified fuel pressure regulator because i swapped mine with a stock one. For argument's sake, lets say as the original owner of a comptech s/c kit for the TSX, what if the ECU was ever damaged and needed to be replaced. How then would the original owner of the kit get the s/c reflash under that scenario? Would the person be out of luck?
Perhaps, you can provide the s/c reflash for the tsx supercharger and outline important guidelines to the buyer. You can even put a disclaimer indicating that hondata will not provide any tech support for the supercharger kit. This is basically similar to disclaimers regarding other reflashes like the SI reflash where you indicate that one must have certain parts on their car or they will lose power. Just a thought....I'm not asking for the creation of new reflashes for the s/c. I'm just asking for a way for buyers of used tsx s/c kits the ability to obtain the the s/c reflash as if they purchased the kit new.. The reflashes are already defined and saved in your systems...for the 04 AT/MT, 05MT, and 06MT. It is a matter of logistics i guess.
You would certainly help me out and all those TSX supercharger owners who are looking to sell their kits as well. Thanks for your time.
