code P0134

Post by Hadi »

couples days ago i got code P0134 a/f primary sensor not activated detected.
i got this code after i switched from PRA k-pro to PRB k-pro for my CTR.
i can clear this error by clearing the dtc's in k manager or restarting the engine . but some times it shows in the next day after i warm the car, some times after couple days.

keep in mind the car runs fantastic , no cels after clearing this one , the a/f sensor is working and reading , am using it now for tuning the parts throttle .

i connected the wires as hondata says .
this code is bothering me .

any help will be appreciated .

thanks

Sounds like the heater may be not working. Check and trace the wires as per the diagram. Make sure that none of the o2 sensor errors are disabled.

If you still get the code then you will have to swap o2 sensors to narrow the problem down.

ill check the wires today, but the code tells me that the primary sensor is not working , nothing about the heater , i had heater cel be4 (heater not working) and i fixed it .

i read somewhere here in the forum that if the heater is down then the a/f sensor will not work correctly or will not work . will in my case the a/f sensor is working.
this is what happen exactly to me " i start up the car in the morning , the a/f sensor is reading and working , no problem at , after couple minutes while the engine is heating and the engine temp gauge is rising the cel showed up"

another thing , what is the cons of swapping from wideband to narrow band sensor ?? will i get a/f readings ?

thanks

With a wideband the heater and sensor are intertwined, and both need to be working to get a reading.

the code showed again, so i tried to know what is the problem and diagnose it .
but still couldn't solve the problem .

will as i said be4 its not a big problem , but its a lil bet annoying .

so this is what happen exactly .

if i start the car for warming , the a/f ratio will work after few second and its switched to closed loop, i can read it through k-manager, nothing wrong at all, and if i start moving be4 3 exact minutes when the engine temp gauge is raising , there is no code .

i was using the car now for couple weeks with no code .

but yesterday , when i started the car and waited for over 3 minutes, to be exact 3,35 minutes, the cel light came on . i measured it by stopwatch.

i turned off the car again and restarted the engine , same thing after 3 n half minutes the cel light came on.

the problem is that the a/f sensor is working in couple seconds and its changes from open loop/open-cold to closed loop after i started the car, and still work if i move the car just be4 3 minutes , but after 3 minutes n half the cel light popped up.

i am using civic si front o2 sensor part# 36531-PND-A11, i am thinking maybe my problem from the sensor ?
