05-06 RSX-S OBD2 PROBLEM

Post by nsted3 »

Okay Ive had kpro for a while, have had a full dyno tune etc. and have had no problems what so ever. I have a 2006 rsx which means my tuner disabled the obd2. The problem I am having is that my check engine light just starting flashing about 4 days ago. It will turn on for 1sec. randomly when driving and then turn off, I wont see it then for a while and then it will do it again for a split second.

I would like to know what is wrong with the car and what code I am thowing, I believe it is only poping up for a second because kpro has obd2 disabled and it is turning it off right away.

How can I find out whats wrong with my car if I have to have obd2 disabled. With it disabled on kpro can I still go to like autozone or something and have them read the code from the device under the drivers side dash?

Any help would be great guys, just dont want something wrong with my car and me not to take care of it because I dont know what is going on.

Disabling OBDII does not affect the MIL or display of any error codes.

You have KPro. Plug in a laptop and read the codes from the ECU.

However, if the MIL just flashes on briefly, it could be indicating knock. Check your calibration and see if the MIL is set to flash with knock.

So wait if obd2 is disabled I can still get the codes from kpro? When I see the flash and connect my laptop do I need to do so before I shut off the car or else the ecu will not show it?

I did not have my laptop connected any of the times my car did this, when I connected it today it showed that all the obd2 sensors or w.e were disabled and not active in the bottom part of the window, at the top it was empty and did not have any codes listed.

I have a feeling it might be knock from running to rich, is that possible? Each of the times the engine light flashed I was driving slow, I have not gone into WOT in the longest time because my car was dyno tuned for CAI, RH, and exhaust......and since then I have put the stock header, cat, and exhaust on and I am using a short ram intake and a RBC manifold. My laptop is showing that I am at around 14.3 A/F during cruising speeds and this is in CLOSED LOOP. I know in closed loop the ecu is supposed to make me run at 14.7A/F. So if I am running rich in closed loop then I must have way to much fuel being dumped into the car, is my assumption correct?

Thanks hondata.

When the check engine light is on, connect the laptop without shutting the car off to see the error codes. If the light just flashes a few times, it is probably knock and you can then tune the knock out or turn off the option that flashes the mil when there is knock.
