Confirmation re: boost control solenoid install

Post by TURBOMY06S2K »

Hello,

Can you please confirm that I have hooked-up my GM boost control solenoid correctly:

1. Pressure source = turbo charger outlet
2. Vacuum line from pressure source to t-fitting
3. Vacuum line from one end of t-fitting to ?From Manifold? fitting
4. Vacuum line from other end of t-fitting to bottom of wastegate (part closest to where it connects to the manifold)
5. Vacuum line from ?Outlet to Wastegate? to top of wastegate

Thanks!

Have you seen the diagram in the help file?

Usually it is best to use the manifold as the pressure source.

Yes, I have seen the diagram, and that is where I got some of the terminology I used in my initial post. In the help file you identified a number of pressure sources. The shop that did my install tapped the turbo outlet so that the vacuum line could be ran from there. If you believe I should change to the intake manifold, I can do that and simply plug the fitting on the turbo outlet. Aside from that, I want to make sure that the rest of the vacuum hoses are ran properly. I am primarily concerned with the "To Wastegate" hose--is that referring to the top fitting of the wastegate?

Sorry, I thought the KManager help file had the same diagram as SManager.

This diagram is from the S300. The ECU pin is wrong - it should be B21 for the K-Series, but the diagram should help.

Thanks for the diagram! Pretty similiar to the diagram in KManager. Anyways, other than the pressure source I have my vacuum lines ran in accordance with that diagram. I am getting a significant amount of over-boost (limited to 10 psi but trying going as high as 18 psi). I didn't have this problem until I switched from the inlinePRO turbo kit to the Full-Race turbo kit. From what several people are telling me, this over-boosting issue is more than likely related to the boost control settings (i.e., duty cycle), which were based on the previous turbo kit. I am having the car re-tuned tomorrow and hopefully this issue will be resolved.
