Hey there.

I have a 2002 Civic SiR (Canada) and just installed a JRSC-R. I've loaded the base tune and have a question.

1. Is it beneficial to use 10% ethanol blended fuel? I can either get 91 octane fuel from a number of places or 94 octane ethanol blended fuel.

Thanks.

The higher the octane, the slower the burn rate. You can loose power from having higher octane.

Is it suitable to use the ethanol fuel with the Hondata supplied civic k20a3 JRSC calibration (without re-tuning it) or should I just stick with the 91 regular petrol?

pros/cons?

Try it and see....if one fuel doesn't work well try the other.

Well, I have when I was N/A and it seemed ok.

Now that I'm F/I it seems like I get knock on the ethanol fuel and it's hard to get rid of...Do the Hondata calibrations run well with them or have you never tried it?

just looking for an expert opinion.

California only has 91 octane, so I cannot give an expert opinion.
