HELP Please ecu problem?

Post by qloc »

I took out the chips (rom and 74HC373) in my 94 integra P75 auto and started to drive. The car never went above 3200rpm and stuttered, especially during idle and in gear. The check engine light came on and the D4 (remember automatic D4) gear box light indicator kept flashing. I guess I forgot to remove the J1 jumper and resistor. So I got back home and took the jumper and resistor out. It goes past 3200rpm and no check engine light but the car still stutters to low rpm at idle and when driving, it sometimes hesitates. I put the chip, jumper etc. back in and it still does the same thing.

PLEASE HELP anyone?

Why did you remove the chip? Autos have originally have it. The code for the tranny is in the EPROM.

Check your solders especially the 373 and EPROM

The hc373 and eprom aren't originally in the ecu, I had to solder them in. The car still hesitates and wants to turn off and stutters at idle(fluctuates between ~200-600rpm). I hope something didn't fry when I kept the jumper without eprom. It still has the same problem when I put the ecu back to stock.
