I have read what I could find on A/F sensor and I think I may have damaged my ECU. My sensor was damaged severely (physical damage) and my cel came on. I replaced with another that had to be spliced (was a honda sensor) and it worked. I then pulled it out and to make it more permanent by soldering the connectors into the original plug. I screwed up and I believe I got the two black wired crossed. Now, it is not working either way and I seen where you said it can/will damaged the ECU.


1) How can I tell if my ECU is damaged?
2) Are all Honda widebands the same? (I can get a junkyard CRV/Accord for cheap but no Si available)
3) How about RSX? Are they the same?
4) Cost of used and or new ECU?

You can use sparkplugs.com's online shopping site to check what sensors in what cars are the same ;). Just lookup the 02-04 rsx type-s front sensor part number and then you can look it up on the other cars to see if it's the same. If I recall correctly, the CRV, 02-05 civic si, and 02-04 rsx type-s and base all use the same sensor. I could be wrong however, so do check and or wait for hondata's reply. You can also use estore.honda.com to cross reference sensor part numbers -- it's very handy as well.

You maybe just burned a fuse of your AF heater relay (if you have one)... if not, you porbably burn the heater relay.

But the CRV and Accord doesn't have wideband AF sensor .

Try your ecu in a known working car (RSX or SI). This will tell you if the ecu is damagedc or it is a wiring problem.
