is this new? i don't remember seeing it and it's not listed in what's new in this version.
just wanted a clarification on how it works.
i'll use the values shown in the help section under Throttle Tip-In Compensation in the index.
if i shift from 1 to 2 and the return rpm is 2500 and the tps is 50%, then by the equation, this is what should happen?
21.25 x .5(negative) x 0 = 10.625 degrees of timing removed for 60ms.
i'm assuming that if there is a zero value in the table it just gets bypassed, as multiplying by zero would get you zero.
the values there are also likely oem values and the whole thing, judging by the numbers through the gears, is to make for smoother shifting?

The calculation is more complicated than the example, because it uses the rate of throttle angle change, as well as a few other factors (I realize that the example is from our help file).
Basically, use the 'Gear Adjustment' to make initial changes. -100 is the least amount of retard, +100 is the most amount of retard. Try different values and then datalog. You'll find that you can reduce the retard is higher gears until either you have the minimum retard or you start to get knock. The lower gears need some retard otherwise the car becomes a little jerky driving around slowly. Once you have that where it works well, then use the 'Base Retard' to tweak the retard by rpm if you get knock just at one rpm point. Usually just changing the gear values will get you most of the way to where you want to be.
