Newbie Here: ECU Swap/Upgrade s200 to s300 on a B18C1

Post by bmarshall8 »

Hey, guys. Thanks in advance for your effort to help me out...

I have a mostly factory (only bolt-on mods) 1994 GSR with a factory P72 OBD1 ECU.

I just bought a JR CHarger and it comes with 440 injectors and a P28 ECU running the Hondata s200. If I decide to run the P28, I would be upgrading the s200 to the s300.

But, in theory- can someone tell me what the differences are between my P72 and the P28 ECU? How much programming needs to take place on the P28 to clone the P72 (in theory)?

I've been told that the s300 is capable of programming any mod needed for the P28 ECU to work with my Factory 1994 B18C1... I just want to know exactly what it is involved and an explanation why...

Thanks again for your time and help.

P28 and P72 are the same with the exception of the knock sensor, and will run the engine identically. The same amount of tuning is required for either ECU. I suggest selling the P28 and s200 as an unit, and getting the P72 modified for the s300.

I was gonna suggest that as well. You oughtta make a decent buck off the P28/s200 unit.
