PRA ecu versions

Hi there,

It has always been accepted that there is no difference in euro Civic Type-R PRA ecu's that come from the pre-facelift and post facelift models, and people have sucessfully swapped k-pro'd PRA's between the different models.

I have just looked at the two ecu's I own ;

Original k-pro'd ecu on my Sept '03, last of the pre-facelifts ;

Ecu code : 37820-PRA-E11

Spare ecu from 2004 post-facelift

Ecu code : 37820-PRA-E12

Never tried the spare, as I've never had the keys coded to it.

Does the E11/E12 thing make any difference. Some Honda dealers in the UK are suggesting this as a way to explain away other problems when swapping ecu's with another vehicle.

Many thanks

Jon

EDIT : I also see there are E02 and E03 versions ?

Differences were only in software on the ecu, which once the ecu has K-Pro are erased.

Many thanks for the clarification :)

I've seen numbers from E02-E13. They all work and can be coded to 2001-2005 Euro-CTRs. We have coded many different ones. What you guys are getting from the dealers is a lousy excuse for not wanting to recode the ECU.

Jostrom - thanks. That's exactly what I thought. The 2 dealers I have been to have had no problems in switching ecu's.
