Hey. I have a RSX-S that I have been having a couple problems with and I am far from a pro at Kpro. I have had my car tuned at Church's but I can not get a hold of anyone there so I am hoping someone can point me in the right direction.

Problem one is my idiling. I have taken off the ICV cleaned it but have never been able to get the black elec connector off. Heard of a good way to get the screws out and I will try it tomorow to see if I can clean it better. But when I am sitting in idle the idle flucuates from 900-1300 slowly. Then when I am driving and coming to a stop as soon as I go into neutral the RPMs jump up to 2k and slowly works back down to 900 only to flucuate to 1300 as described before. Kpro shows code P0505 (Idle Control Mal). Would cleaning the ICV help at all or should I just replace it?

Problem number two nearly killed me when getting on the freeway, but this only happens one in a while. While accelerating pretty hard at around 3.5-4 k RPMs the car will just choke. It feels like I get no gas or air intake. Once I shut the car off and restart it the problem stops. Kpro also has these two codes. P0134 A/F sensor 1 no activity and P0420 Cat Sys below threshold. And I do have a race header. Attatched is my Datalog

Like I said, I am a newb at Kpro and I cant make any adjustments to my cals because they are at Church's. But any input or suggestions would be great. Thanks.

Your 12 second datalog doesn't give any real information. Your O2 sensor is not reading correctly since there is an O2 error. Eliminate the other error codes by following the Helms manual for them then see how the car runs.

Ok I got a 7 minute datalog. I jusr drove around the street, then onto the freeway pushing it. Would there be anything there to show why my car just loses gas or air when accelerating hard? Of course I couldnt duplicate the problem when logging I will continue to try to log that but until I do here is this. Thanks,

Adam

So you want to know what is causing a problem you have not duplicated in the datalog? You need to correct the error codes first. I would highly suggest taking your car back to The tuner and have them look at it for you.

You need to clean or replace the idle valve. To remove the screws either use vice-grips or use a hacksaw to slot the screws.

I was able to properly clean the ICV and that fixed my idle problem. I used a dremel to slot the screws. The error code is still there though and I still have to figure out why my car chokes up only sometimes.
