reflashed '02 ecu on k20z1?

i want to put type-s motor into ep3. already have '02 6-spd tranny with vss, '02 ecu w/engine harness,& '02 cat w/both ox.sensors. i'm having very hard time finding k20a2 engine.i may know somebody selling '06 k20z1.assuming engine parts & sensors(except cams & thrott.body) are same between k20a2 & k20z1 motors, and assuming '05-06 cams are type-r cams, my question is--will a 2002 ecu(reflashed with k20a2-4 or k20 itr program) work on a k20z1 longblock? i hear k-pro will work, but i doubt i will ever upgrade to hi-comp or forced induction or hi-lift cams or nitrous. i want to keep it stock w/ just the bolt-ons. if it'll work, will either pass cal.smog test?

As long as all the sensors are 02-04, the reflash will work. Use the K20A2-ITR reflash.

I would recommend against a reflash and get the K-Pro instead. If you have any problems, you will not have the ability to make any changes. Since it is an engine swap, you will need to make some adjustments.
