i recently purchased a hondata stage system. does the 4bd at the beginning of the serial number indicate what stage it is and anything else about the system? are there any other ways to find out what features it has besides calling hondata? i called them and they told be it is a stage 2 with boost, but im wondering why it has a 4bd at the beginning of the serial number. TIA.

I am still running a 2b with boost. I solely use it for a/f management. I have had this box forever but have gone to ls/vtecT and I recently had my car retuned with a s200 box and V3.0. It ran great! But when I went to plug my 2b box back in, it ran very poorly...and not as good. So then we tried converting the tune to the V2.5 and still the same problems. According to the webpage (http://hondata.com/v3upgrades.html) this should have worked. This was all assuming that the tuner (at SCI motorsports san antonio, TX) was correct in thinking "it shouldn't matter" So the question is was he correct in thinking this? And what exactly is the difference between v2.5 and v3.0? Can you tune the hondata 2b with an S200 system then just transfer the bin over and run the 2b box? Are the programs compatible that way?

Also, could you tell me what features this box has? Hondata 2b (box# 2bn979)

That is a stage 2 with boost and no datalogging.

The dealer should have contacted us when he was having trouble. It should have worked if it was done correctly.
