Got the ECU back w/ boost control, now ECT,IAT comp.actingup

OK, so I got my ECU back and it took me a little while to get it in. I finally did and noticed that at idle, the A/F was lean (15.6:1 @ idle)... I decided to richen it up first in the fuel table. I noticed no change in A/F when i increased it as much as 5 percent. I thought.. weird, but lemme try something else. I decided I would tweak the ECT and IAT corrections a bit... again, no real noticeable change.... Is there some new setting in the new software that I am missing?? Any ideas??

Have you tried changing the Revlimit to something really low to make sure the changes you are making are taking effect?

I will do that tonight and let you know. I haven't had any software upload errors and I can monitor the engine in real-time without any problems... Could this be a bad O2 sensor?? I hope not...

OK, i got it working... for whatever reason, the closed loop was activated and the target was like 12:1 across the map... weird... anyway, I have another Q:

is there any reason why when i calibrate my wideband at idle, i can get a dead on reading in hondata and then when i am on the throttle, it appears to be off by .4??

This sounds like a problem with the power source or the ground. Where do you have them connected?

i have the power wired to 12V right from the battery and the ground is the ECU ground right where the harness connects to the case...

THe case is not grounded. You should use a good solid chassis ground. If you look around you will see some wires already grounded to the chassis from honda, unbolt one and add the PLX to it and bolt it back in.

no, i'm not grounding directly to the case, I meant that I was grounding to one of the GND pins on the ECU close to where the harness plugs into the case...

Alright, I am going to follow this thread up again. I have heard from other tuners that the capacitors supplied with the PLX actually hurt linearity between the PLX unit and the reading in Hondata. Is there any credit to this?

What I have to do most of the time is re-calibrate Hondata with the PLX using the offset every time I want to tune. I do this by unplugging the O2 from the meter and adjusting the offset voltage. This only adusts the stoich readings to be in synch, this does not guarantee the rich or lean readings to correlate. Is there any way to calibrate them?

You should not have to change the offset everytime you tune. The voltage ofset in one vehicle should always be the same.

So where would you check first for a problem? All the connections are solid solder bonds. The only difference between my setup and those i see on some other cars is that their 12V signal to the PLX is wired to the ECU's 12V line, which fluctuates when cranking.

best place is in the fuse box in the place that provides power with the ignition in the on position, but not the acc position. Ground and good solid chassis ground will do. All 3 of my cars are setup liek this without problems.

Do you have the capacitors installed as well??

No, it is installed per the instructions on OUR website.

Alright. I'll remove the capacitors and see if it improves things.
