I just got a used s300 with no software. I downloaded the fireware off the hondata website. Is that the full program or an upgrade?

Why doesnt it say online when everything is on and running in the car? I have no communication with the computer and the laptop.

The laptop does recognise the connection though once the car is on.

Thanks Everyone!

I'm not accusing or anything, but who would toss their software disc? So many Hondas are stolen day to day in my area that I'm really hoping that anyone can't break into my car, jack my ECU, then download software off the internet, and use my s300 in any car they please. I'm really hoping the serial # can be traced to the hardware in the ECU???

Did you update the USB drivers THROUGH SManager? Its an option under the "Help" menu and thats the only way it'll actually update.

What does it show up as in the Windows device manager when you plug it in and turn the key to the on position.

Sounds to me like you installed everything right. after you plug everything in and start/turn on the key you may need to press the icon that looks like a lighting bolt. which starts/stops the logging process. or just press f10 which does it for you.
