which ecu?

Post by Mike1ch »

Hey guys i'm new here.

I have a 99 civic cx (d16y7) non - vtec
Doing my research I decided to go with a b18b 96-01.
i found one of thoes "imported from japan" engines off of ebay for $1500
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/JDM-B18B ... dZViewItem
I do not believe it has vtec and neither does my civic.
It will be coming with a jdm (Pxx) ecu.
My future plans are to turbo that motor using the s300. I know i will need to convert to OBD1. So i would need a obd2 to 1 harness.
My question is what ecu should i get so i'm ready to turbo and get the s300?

And if i go with a vtec b18b, would that need a different ecu?

I searched this and somebody with a similar situation was told to get the p75 but his situation wasn't exactly the same as mine.
Any help would be appriciated.
Thanks

I would go with the P72. I just put a GSR motor in my 95 LS and had to use a GSR ECU (OBD1) so I decided to go with a Spoon dual stage vtec in mine. Contact xtuner1@hotmail.com for more info.
