S300 Hardware

Post by marklamond »

Hi there,

I'm just about to place an order for an S300 and am stuck between going for the vanilla or JDM version.

Physical aspects aside will the JDM S300 operate in a non-JDM ecu, reason for asking is that i currently run a JDM P30 but would rather use a big box ECU with all the features, Knock & Baro etc but it will be a while until i can get hold of one. I'd like to get going with the JDM and retro fit it to a big box later on.

Failing that i'll go the JDM route but really need Baro support as i will be running ITB's - is this supported under S300 on the JDM platform? I realise the ECU hardware will need a few changes as the JDM units are a little different and am happy to sort that out myself.

Thanks for your help,

The JDM s300 does not have a barometric air pressure sensor, and so atmospheric pressure correction for ITBs cannot be used.

It is difficult to use a JDM s300 in an US ECU, and vice versa, so you would be best to purchase an US ECU first.
