Did my Hondata really work?

Post by Boosted B6teen »

Ok, so today I went to go tune my new turbo set-up and when the tuner (who knows his stuff) cracked open my ECU, he said that it was missing the stuff it needed for the Hondata to run!(so bassicly it was just a stock b16 map) He said it was missing a "jumper wire", 2 capacitors and a resister? Is this right? If so the Hondata box was just on there for looks...it still had a socket in it for chips but none of that other stuff, he showed me his "chipped" ECU that had all that stuff. Please give me some insight, Thanks Brent....

THe ecu has not been fully socketed for use with a Hondata system.

Can you tell me what is missing? Just so I know what to tell the guy.

Pull the board out and look at the back. You will probably find the jumper and resisters here.

According to the Hondata Dealer instruction manual capacitors are not used. I emailed one of their techs this morning and he confirmed that they do not use them either.
