Datalogged timing is different than what map says?

Post by smracing »

Doing some datalogging last night and upon review I noticed that the timing shown in playback differs from what the table shows. Apparently this only happens on the Second map. The primary map appears to follow the tables correctly.

Posted below are the data log and bin.

The ignition timing may not be the same as that in the tables. There are compensations which alter the timing, plus adjustments for things like coil dwell time. The datalog looks normal.

I was wondering if there were some sort of other function or code in the base ECU that was altering timing.

But what concerns me the most is there are places where it is up to 10 degrees higher in the datalogs than the maps. I want to add timing but I am afraid of going to far. I see what I programmed in the tables but it comes out much higher in reality. I can't tell where what is, especially if I am sorting out a problem in the area where the timing is different.

Might be worth a double check of your Air temp/water temp corrections, Hondata you may be interested aswell

this is a bit difficult to explain.

i found yesterday after updating software and map, that all my tempuratures had gone all over the place, my map started off with the tempuretures correct and in Celcius i.e 88*C on a previous version.

re opened the map and did a bit of tweaking and looking around the latest version started up the car and noticed it was still applying correction factors based on ECT/IAT when fully warmed up

had a look into it and found the values were as if they were in Fahrenheit but the units were Celcius e.g 150*C where 88*C should had been, for temp corection and when i changed to Fahrenheit it was 305* this was the case across all my temp values in the corection tables both water and air, thought not a problem ill just alter it, but the latest version does not let you alter the last and first column, fortunatly i had an older version on my desktop corrected the values in that and reopend in 1.1.8 double checking the values against my old version

I have all of my temp corrections set to zero for air above 60F and water above 160F for now. I will go back and adjust once I finalize the map.

Although I have noticed a couple of things missing from the new version:

What happened to under the settings window:

Amount of fuel and timing change?
Settings for map displays? I can't change my table settings to display PSI instead of MBAR.
