I just got the everything installed , have victor x manifold with professional products 65mm throttlebody . I uploaded the stock p72 map and i cannot get the car to idle for crap . I unplugged the aicv and messed with the throttle screw and throttle plate and got it to idle but the idle goes up and down and the timing does the same thing when i look at the display on the laptop. I dont have any oxygen sensor whatsoever hooked up to this yet, do i need that to make the car idle , im just trying to get it to idle first . WHen i set the timing to 16 degrees with timing litght and then afterwards look at the display it shows timing at 1-3 degrees , sometimes i get lucky and it goes up to 16. What am i doing wrong here can anyone help me out with this

First download the newest version of software. Then load your calibration into the ecu and go to Online and click on Set Timing. But you really need to get a steady idle before you can set timing properly.

Have you tried adjusting the Idle Control slider under Idle in Parameters?

As above, adjust the slider for the idle, when i first ran the P72 map in my P30 Ecu the idle of my car was going up and down from 750-1100, lowering the slider solved it mine is set just below mid way

Well what cause the walking idle , i checked everywhere and have no vacuum leak. I unplugged the iacv to see if it still does it and it does . The timing fluctuates at the same time this happens. What else could possibly cause this . I did use the slider and it corrects it some but when i plug the aicv the car idle 1k+ and still fluctuates. ALso what should the timing be set at to idle in the map. Would having a wideband and narrow band have any hellp on just tuning idle? I never thought just tuning the idle would be this hard . Also in case it makes any difference i have civic type r cams.

i have the same problem when trying to set the idle. no vaccum leaks or anything but the car wont idle correctly. i found that this only happens in open loop. when i switch the car to closed loop its much more stable. the idle never falls to the rpm i set it at but at least the revving up and down is less apparent.

Check your valve adjust.

I had the excat same problem, car was running fine, idle ok etc and pulling like a horse then all of a sudden i had what can only be described as hunting, and the car didnt feel right when driving hunting all the time, My wide band was going from extreme rich to extreme lean, like you it ran better in closed loop, my only advie is to check all the wiring particularly any wide band as i double checked my wide band wiring due to the readings also the wide band software confirmed the fluctuations [LC1] after checking all connections, one was ever so slightly loose it was gone and ran fine.
