Reving issue with no load!

Post by mkulak »

Hi,

I have an S300 installed on a 515hp B series. I have primary rev limiter setup to 9300rpm, and launch is turned off. If I pin the gas, the car hits 8000 or so and then starts rev fast between 7000-8000.

Now here is the problem... I have now added my MSD box, and I'm trying to use the 2 step on it. I want an 8800rpm 2 steps, but the car wil not rev. (With MSD hooked-up or out). The MSD works great at 6000rpms, but I need more rev.

Could the car maybe be lean at 0-5psi at 7200-8200 and now it won't let it rev over this? I even tried turning the hondata launch on at 8800rpm (with no MSD), and still have this issue. The car was tuned on Friday, but the tunner did not play with 2 step.

This problem is cause this car to bog almost every time I try to my a 1/4 mile pass, and I really need to fix it soon. Any help would be great.

Can't tell from your description if it is a rev limit or not. If it is a rev limit, then find and raise the offending rpm limiter. If the engine simply will not rev any higher, then it is tuning. A datalog will tell us if it is a rev limiter.

It seems to be fixed. Car was far too rich and was stalling the revs. I'm able to rev it now to 9000. and have my 2 step set at 7900rpm via the msd now.

Making 7psi with a GT4088 on the 2 step.
