weird idle

so recently i swapped cams into my base with an type s intake manifold and throttle body. i extended the tps wire and switched the wires around, but my idle is very weird. i set my kpro to hold my idle at 2000 to let the cams break in, but it won't hold and will stay at 700-900 constantly surging. btw. im using a type s rocker assembly with ips k2's and im running the pre set ips-header-cai-exaust calibration in kmanager. thanks

The idle valve can only flow a limited amount of air and probably will not be able to reach 2000 rpm.

Since you have just swapped cams and rewired the TPS, look at those first. First pull the valve cover and check the cam timing by putting the piston to TDC, and checking the arrows on each cam sensor are aligned with the horizonal parting line on #5 cam cap (this is more reliable and accurate than using the marks on the cam sprockets).

Check the TPS reads normally in KManager and that you have no error codes.

well im pretty sure that my timing is not off, because im not throwing error codes period. i've checked tdc and its fine. it turns out that the markings on my crank pulley are off compared to my crank. my tps reads 3% so its a little off, but should that be enough to mess up my idle?

Did you check cam timing using the method I described? If the cam timing is off it will not generate an error code.

The TPS should read 0% at idle.

Otherwise you need to do some tuning...

swapped out my tb. it idled fine, until my car threw a code that said my car was overheating, my car shut off and now it won't start. what's wrong? suppose it's timing?
