Disappointed with Full Throttle Shift Feature
Disappointed with Full Throttle Shift Feature
For some reason...my rev limit is @ 7500rpm. If I touch the clutch, it'll drop down to 6000rpm as what the shift limit is set at. Speaking with others...it seems like a lot of people haven't had success.
I love the launch control feature. It helps a great deal...but what's the point when I'm limited at 7500rpm.
What gives? Anyone with success?
BTW, this is a Hondata Stage 3.

Full throttle shift is working correctly. If you read the manual the dropping to 6k happens when your foot is resting still on the clutch (ie the button is depressed) and is a safety feature designed so the clutch will not burn out as quick and this is adjustable.RK wrote:Yes I will try that tomorrow...but would the settings have changed?
So my suggestion is you have setup the clutch switch incorrectly or after you change gears you are leaving your foot just enough on the clutch pedal to keep the button pressed causing you the revs to cut out at 6k (which is the default setting).

clutch switch
I remember a discussion a few years ago that a "whisker" switch was recommended over the pin switch that comes with the package. And mounting the whisker switch in an ideal location (at the pendulum of the clutch arm where the clutch engagement point is?). Maybe someone else that has done this can explain it in laymen's terms better than I...

Yes the WOT switch for NX, NOS kits.
Pretty cheap and easier to use and adjust.
You can use the bracket that comes with it or fab one.
I mount it down on one of the clutch master studs and then bend the bracket as needed. I usually make it so the switch is activated at about half of the clutch pedal travel.
