I have a ECU problem...Need help Please and Advice

Post by Craig_Ellis »

Ok,

Long story short.......

My K-Pro ECU is not communicating with my fuel system. My car is at the dealer right now troubleshooting. With my K-Pro ECU, my fuel pump is not turning on when the ignition is on. All my car does, is crank, crank,crank....Nothing.

Now, the dealer switched out my K-PRO ECU with a stock ECU, and the car starts right up with no problems.
I just got done doing another 45 min trip to the dealers to clear the DTC's on the computer (there isnt any anyways) and to re-upload my base map that I was using...Nothing....crank,crank..

What do I do now?....

Any help would me MUCH appreciated,
Thanks,
Craig

If your fuel pump is not running, then don't even try to crank the engine.

More information is needed - what vehicle is this, what ECU, when did you install it, did it ever work?

At a guess you're either running a JDM ECU or the ECU fuel pump output was damaged.

Oh, you can read and clear the DTCs yourself. What error codes do you have? You should fix these before proceeding further. Please tell me this is not an engine swap.

First.....No engine swap.

There are no engine codes or any codes for that matter. Even though that their wasnt any, I still cleared the DTC's and re-uploaded my base map.

This is on a 2003 Acura RSX-S. I installed the ECU about 3 weeks ago. Have had no problems at all.

I almost 95% sure that the fuel output was damaged, since the stock ECU was plugged in at the dealer and the car worked fine.

Now.....DONT FLAME me......

This problem started with I was screwing around trying to figure which wires to hook up my nitrous to, so that I can enable it.
Just 2 weeks ago, I dropped my tranny and installed my own flywheel, clutch, pressure plate, etc.etc. No problems at all.
Now I screwed myself, just trying to hook up a stupid relay, solenoid, and the ECU to my spray. Go Figure...
My relay is hooked up fine, its just the 2 wires going to the Arming Input, and the Output controls that got me.

I am almost positive that is the problem. Now I just need to know the process in getting my ECU to Hondata so that they can repair the fuel output.

Thanks so Much!

It seems unlikely that the fuel pump output was damaged unless you applied 12V to the fuel pump relay output (E1). Check that you have not switched the immobilizer on by mistake.

We can test the ECU, but if the problem is the fuel pump ouput, we cannot repair that. Contact us for more information.

I believe that is what I did by accident ............:(
So stupid for screwing around with that.
I know for a fact that my immobilizer is turned off. I checked that everytime I re-uploaded my map trying to get this thing to work.

I think that I am screwed now. If I did... which I am pretty sure that I did, where do I go from here? Also, what is the phone number to contact,

Thanks for you help though.

By the way, I am here racking my brains on what I am going to do in the "worst case scerino".... If the fuel output is damaged from me being a dumbass, can I .....

send my ECU to Acura for them to fix, or can they fix it?

or

If I have to find another used ECU, can you take my Hondata stuff from the old one and install it in the new ECU.....?

The only thing that I know that I am going to have to do, is to send it to you guys for testing on the final verdict.

Thanks again for everything,
Craig

Ph 310 782 8278 9-5 PST

We can test the ECU. If it is damaged, transferring the KPro to another ECU costs $100.
