Right ladies and gents

yesterday the car was fine performing well B18C fitted in a kit car obd1

updated to 1.1.7 software

Reloaded my map into the ecu [a known good map]

with the car cold everything seems fine performs what appear well, obviously i dont lean on the engine hard as it is cold,

engine warms up [about 3minutes] to operating temp 78-80 degrees C

from that point onwards i get a missfire, sort of light/medium load if that makes sense colums 3/4, which is making driving the car a bit difficult, as soon as it misfires it falls flat on its face im getting afrs of 10/9, ease of a bit and it stops misfiring put will not take any more load, it is making drivng the car a bit difficult.

have re installed my software tried the supplied base maps, old maps i have done, changed leads, rotor arm, cap, checking earths, etc etc still nothing yet,

and to help it all no Cels indicating a problem

Post datalogs and calibratiosn showign the problem

I was just getting the lap top to get my logs from

here they are, this is in first gear shortly started up engine warm and driven up the road, like 100yrds, then the misfire right were the afrs plumets, still no cels, going to try a couple of other checks such as ignition coil

just noticed a small error in my file description for my log, it was ment to read 3000rpm @25 tps, corrected it now

The test is to graph injector duration and MAP sensor together. Normally they should almost overlay each other, depending on graph sensor settings.

Your datalog and calibration looks ok. At a guess it is an ignition problem - swap distibutors if you can.

Did a test on the coil late last night just before bed, and found the primary resistance to be a little higher than what my specs. listed, specs listed 0.6-0.7 ohms @ 20.0 degrees C i think from memory,

i got 1.1, but the coil was slightly warm as had just had the car running,
secondary resistance was nicely within tolerance right in the middle of the range

tired my other map this morning and same problem prehaps slightly worse [it has a little more timing in it part throttle]

did a true cold start this morning and the car felt fine the three minutes after start up the misfire started to appear and gradually got worse.

Got a spare Dizzy at my parents 120 miles away :roll: , was my next thing to try.

Nothing to do with my ECU thankfully :D

We'll assume that the distributor was the source of your problems?

thats a dangerous thing to do to assume


it was to do with how my nitrous was hooked up and a small error on my part with my fuse box at the time, golden rule dont make too many changes at once or assume its right without double checking
