VTEC Table Tuning Q?

Hi,
My old engine on my Drag car had VTEC locked and always on. Therefore, I only used the lower fuel and timing maps when the car was tuned. The new engine has VTEC enable, and I was wondering if I can copy and paste my numbers from the low map to the upper map to start as a baseline. They are very similar engines, just VTEC was not locked on this head.
Or... Would it hurt to have VTEC engaged all the time, and just use the low tables as the Hondata would never know my VTEC was wired on..
Any help would be great...
