serious s300 issues

Post by b20vtecboost »

i just got a brand new unit and it didn't even run 5 minutes before the check engine light started flashing rapidly and the car sounded like it was missing terribly and loping and then it finally cuts off. i can start the car right back up, it will run fine for a sec and then the same thing. I just got the new unit because my old one was having the same issues and i'm getting frustrated. Could it be the software? Ive already tried 4 different laptops just to make sure and both ecu's did the same thing. I sent the first one back 3 times before the dealer just replaced it with a new ecu and new hondata unit. I took the cover off to see if it was pushed down all the day or something like that. I've got a video to show whats goin on. The red lights and the green lights on the ecu are flashing too with the cel PLEASE HELP ME!!!

sorry the ecu is a p28 the calibration is a p72 with the rev limiter at 7600 launch control set at default and everything else stock, the motor is a stock b20 vtec with an intake and exhaust.

What fuel pump and injectors are you using? Distributor timing?

just to check if it's not your wiring or anything other than hondata.(problem isolation) Use a standard ECU to check if the engine runs fine. then check the base ignition timing.

If everything seems ok with the stock ECU. then reply to this post. nd well try find another solution.

I would recommend taking the car to the dealer that socketed the ecu to have them look everything over and help you find the problem. Since all s300 systems are tested before being shipped the chance that is the s300 causing the problem is very very small.

Was the stock ecu you were testing with chipped in anyway?

Too hard to say over the internet. Best bet is to have someone troubleshoot in person.
