On the k20z3 (06 Si) you guys raised the rev limit to 8600 rpms. I'm sure you have done testing and such with previous k-series motors, my question is how did you guys decide on that number? Meaning is this a pretty safe reliable increase based on testing you guys have done with the strength of the valvetrain/ motor on other k-series motros...or did you just randomly add another 500rpm for fun??

TIA

Based that the JDM K20A used a 8600 rpm limit using the same piston type, rods, crank, valves and valve springs as the K20A2, K20Z1 and K20Z3.

I didnt realize they all used the exact same stuff. Is the only thing that changes the power then the Cam profile and compression difference? So basically besides those couple things their all identical motors and can all rev to 8600 rpm? They just make different power b/c of the things i said above?

Cam profile, header, intake manifold, compression ratio (jdm is 11.5:1)
