S300 SHOWS RPM JUMPING TO >35,000!!!

Hi to all,
I have an S300 installed to my EG6.
When tuning, the parameters could freeze or rpm jumped to crazily high figures such as >35,000 and many times >60,000 as well even though the car is idling fine at 950-1,000rpm.
The numbers in the fuel or ignition maps also go haywire.
I always need to click on "upload" and all will return to normal again. But, after a while, the same haywire behaviour starts all over again. Each time, I have to click on "upload" to normalise the problem.
When even clicking on "upload" button does not work, then I have to remove the USB cable and plug it back in again.
Why is this happening?

Eletrical interrence.
Check the plugs are resistor type, and the leads are stock and the distributor cap has a resistor. If you have an aftermarket ignition, return the ignition to stock.
Clean and check the main ground on the thermostat housing, and also that the ground near the timing cover goes to the stud, not the timing cover itself.
Clean and check the ground used for the fuel pump (near the driver's seat on a US spec car; don't know where it is for a RHD).
Failing that, use a USB cable with ferrite code.

Also, if you are not using the newest version (1.5.1.0) then that could be part of the problem.

"Your Version is up to date (1.1.5.0)."
You said the newest version was (1.5.1.0) which is why I asked, because I thought I had the latest.

happened to me, but my labtop was blazing hot ( it was 90 ish outside, idling in traffic). I thought it was labtop related, but it is interference. Good luck with it.

SS,
I am using the latest version. I didn't have as much problem with the previous version though.

You may also have a corrupted calibration. Try creating a new calibration by going to File NEw and then see if the problem persists.

Spunkster,
My EG6 is running on several mod parts and on Crower Stage 3 cams kit. I already have a map to run this setup.
If I click under File/New, may I know how can I copy the map into the new calibration file?
Thanks...

This is just for testing. You can do minor testing witout having a perfect calibration.

Oh I see... Ha ha... Sorry...
Anyway, before reading this msg, I actually copy the parameters from the original map into a New map. Same problems happened.
I will try using a stock B16A map from the File/New option and try it.
Thanks!
