maybe i should post in here instead of installation....
my setup: ls/vtec in a 2000 LS. GSR wiring harness. obd1.
at first i had a p30, cleared all the CEL lights except for the knock sensor, which i dont have. so my car would run, i would put it in gear and when i accelerate above 2500rpm it would just drop in rpms, like some sort of cut-off. so i came to the conclusion that this must be the KS in safe mode.
so i get a p28 hopeing to solve the problems. put the chip in there, car turns on, but CEL light is stuck on, no flash. so the same problem happens about the accelerating and the dropping of rpms after a certain RPM, usually 3K, but as car gets warmed up, goes to around 2300RPM or so. so i do research and find out no flashing is typical ECU failure, well my car turns on. and i got the eprom chip programmed for a p28. what should i do? and also if this check engine light gets fixed, would that most likely fix my RPM dropping problem, because when ECU light comes on, engine goes into safe mode.
thanxx.
couple bugs i need to kill..
