I only use this laptop for KManager, nothing else.
My average FPS in 1.2.1.5 was in the 20s and 30s
Now it's stuck right at 10-11fps
I tried to revert back to 1.2.1.5 by uninstalling .6 and reinstalling .5. I got a message I was using an old version so I deleted the version key in the registry. That eliminated that problem but when I went to upload a calibration it failed everytime.
I reinstalled .6 on the fly and I could upload a calibration.
How can I reinstall .5 and it work like it did before I upgraded to .6.
I want to eliminate Hondata software as a possible cause for slow FPS during datalogging
Sloowwww recording with latest version
There are so many disclaimers and warnings in our lives that we get used to ignoring and circumventing them, and therefore can't recognise a genuine warning when we see it. Blame the lawyers.
Do you know the internal changes made between 1.2.1.5 and 1.2.1.6 and the full effect and ramifications of 'downgrading' on datalogging, your calibration, your ECU and your vehicle? If so, disable the warning message. Otherwise, read on.
The first step is to report the problem to us. Which in this case, is that you find the new version datalogs slower than the old version. Then I'll ask you to run through some steps:
- what is your laptop spec?
- close and reopen KManager, clear security, then upload to thr ECU again.
- check in the device manager what it says for the "Hondata K-Series ECU" under 'Properties', 'Details' then 'Hardware ID'.
- if possible, try another laptop for datalogging

I'm sorry, I didn't realize the updates were so significant. For the record, I made a backup of all my calibrations and datalogs OUT of the KManager folder BEFORE I installed the upgrade. Any wise tuner would do that!Hondata wrote:There are so many disclaimers and warnings in our lives that we get used to ignoring and circumventing them, and therefore can't recognise a genuine warning when we see it. Laptop spec - Celeron 2.4GHz, 512MB RAM, minimal installation of Windows XP with nothing running in the background. I am a computer expert so I do not believe the problem lies in my laptop.
I don't feel like messing with it again until the morning, but thanks for your quick reply. I can't help but notice the sarcasm in your tone about the disclaimers. If I was smart enough to hack the registry to find KManager's version key, I think I can read the disclaimer.
MY ASSUMPTION WAS - because I started with 1.2.1.5 I could simply reinstall it and use my BACKED UP calibration files. KManager would say it was online and ignition was on, but would not upload. It would immediately error out. Upon reinstalling 1.2.1.6 this problem was solved.
I don't understand where I went wrong in:
- Uninstalling 1.2.1.6 (I uninstalled BOTH USB drivers and KMananger)
- Reboot laptop
- Install 1.2.1.5 again
- Reboot laptop
- Open KMananger, install USB drivers
- Reboot laptop
- Open KMananger, upload BACKED UP calibration
To me, that seemed like the logical step.
But in the morning I will be more than happy to supply you with the device ID shown and will follow any future steps you have for me.
I apologize again.
