K20Z3 Reflash

Post by COMplex »

I see that the reflash for the 06 Si has been released. I plan on getting mine done soon. Great work!

Couple of questions...

I live at a high altitude +5000ft, will the reflash have negative effects compared to stock because of this?

Also, I see no mention of the 'throttle hang' that many say they experience with the DBW system on the reflash info page. Has this issue been resolved with the reflash? If not, and honda does release their own update, will that effect the reflash?

Thanks!

The reflash will work at altitude.

If you think that there is a problem with the throttle control then call Honda and make them aware of the issue. There are two things we are never going to change: ABS and DBW, so it is up to Honda to resolve any issues in those areas.

I see that you have indicated that there is no measurable difference in SMOG emisions. I am guessing that this is referring to the non-race header application?

The reflash makes no measureable difference to emissions. Any race header is not legal and will have horrible emissions as it does not have a cat.

I think people need to step back and look at what gains they are getting from not using a cat. I dynoed at 176 bone stock and with k-pro, intake, race header, exhaust AND a high flow cat, I dynoed at 202whp. I hit 261whp with the supercharger at 7psi and that's right on par with what others have seen who were .... Figured I'd pass that on. I'm not saying a cat won't make a difference -- just be aware of how minor it can be at low boost levels and N/A. My 81 dollar carsound (magnaflow) 2.5" in/out high flow cat has served me well. Obviously installing a high flow cat into a system designed not to have one (race header) will take some minor labor at an exhaust shop.

raz, what was the exhaust config from the cat back, i assume you didn't have a resonator and muffler on the n/a setup?

202whp peak with rh & custom cat combo, was that on a dynopack or jet? and did you take a hit on mid range power?

if that 202 was on a dynopack then you took a ~8-10whp hit on peak power? if the 202 was on a jet then you're right not much loss on peak but you still should have took a hit on mid range.

like the new s2k toda reflash, not much peak gain (maybe 2-4whp) with rh vs. stock header and cat, but tons of mid range....
