Newbie Questions

I'm new to the whole Hondata system but I know enough, maybe more about computers and cars. The reason I'm asking all these questions is because the site doesn't really answer all my questions. I handle all kinds of chips and I know pretty much about soldering where I work. I just wanted to know what type of chip to use? Could you list them? What is needed to use the Hondata system besides the ecu? ie..ic socket..is it included? What to solder and where? Lets just say I want to know all of it...the computer part I think I can do but I'll probably be back. I'm looking to buy the programmer or the emulator..differences? Datalogging? I plan to be programming a couple ecu's including my own. Any help or advice would be great. Applications consist of n/a, turbo, and nitrous. Thanks
