does the ecu check the rom when booting up?

like the topic says, i'm just curious if the ecu does a checksum check on the rom contents when it boots up (or comes online or whatever it does when you start the car).

just wondering if it's possible for rom contents to become corrupt at some point in time.

We have not seen any cases where the flash memory was corrupted or erased.
